Founded more than thirty years agoBernard Huvé
 

1979 - SII was formed in 1979 in Paris by Bernard Huvé, the current chairman of its Supervisory Board. 

1984 - An office was opened in Nice in connection with a project for IBM. 

1987 à 1989 - In an effort to get closer to its clients, the Company opens two branch offices in the greater Paris region, at Cergy in 1987 and Vélizy in 1989.

1992 - SII is one of the first IT engineering and consulting company to receive an ISO 9001 certification for all of its operations.

1997 - Opening of an office at the Atalante technology park in Rennes, Brittany, for the telecommunications and digital television sectors.

1998 - Opening of a branch office in Aix-en-Provence.

1999 - IPO by SII on the “second market”, now Compartment C  of the NyseEuronext Paris stock exchange.

2000 à 2003 - Expansion of the nationwide network with the opening of branches in Nantes, Toulouse, Strasbourg and Lille. SII decides to initiate a process improvement based on the CMMi® model.

2005 à 2007 - SII’s foreign expansion begins with the opening of subsidiaries in Poland, Belgium and the Czech Republic. In France, the company’s regional branches add offices to increase their local presence.

2008 - Business grows in a sustained manner in France while the first foreign acquisitions accelerate SII’s international expansion :

  • SII Morocco is formed as an off-shore entity
  • Acquisition of Switzerland’s Coris Group
  • A Luxembourg subsidiary is formed to handle Swiss technology sales
  • Acquisition of the Concatel Group in Spain

2009/2010 - An economic recession causes worldwide turmoil. Although SII is affected by it, the Group’s structure enables it to continue operating steadily for the duration of the crisis. Demand picks up again in early 2010, and international expansion resumes :

  • Acquisition of AIDA Development in Germany
  • Opening of a subsidiary in Chile to bolster SII’s market position in South America

Today, SII operates from 41 locations in France and throughout the world.

SII’s performance in fiscal 2010/2011 confirmed a trend that had been evident for several months, as the Group continued to expand internationally with the acquisition of Uniway, a Belgian designer and producer of trade applications based on Internet technologies.
